Operating Principle HID Xenon Head Lamp

• HID xenon lamp, the high brightness gas discharge lamp, is a top-class product of metal halide lamp with complicated luminescence theory and process. Under the normal temperature, ultra pure (99.999%) rare and gas xenon(9Kg/cm)is put inside and a small amount of specifically proportional metal halides including sodium iodide, potassium iodide, cesium iodide, scandium iodide and a bit of metallic mercury are added in; when electric arc started under the momentary high voltage, accelerated electron collides with vaporous and plasma state metallic ion inside the lamp and then energy level transition happens; when activated outer electron of ion turns to be in the low level stable state, the characteristic spectrum of this material (e.g. gaseous metal) will be sent out.

The main spectrum is metal atomic spectrum such as natrium, kalium, cesium, scandium and mercury, since the atomic spectrum of different metals has different color temperature, and the alteration of compounding of metals or metal halides and inside atmospheric pressure, then color temperature can vary easily from 3,OOOK to I 2,OOOK

Features of HID Xenon Head Lamp

•   High Brightness; over 3,000 lumen illumination will be sent out from 4mm electric long arc, which is 3 times as that of present best 55w halogen lamps for vehicle, and is equivalent to the total light flux of 165w halogen lamps

Perfect color Temperature; the color temperature of halogen lamp is determined by filament temperature despite the power of lamp. Temperature can be changed through altering inside atmospheric pressure but reach 3,OOOK at the utmost when working with yellow light. However, the color temperature of HID lamps is normally over 4,300K.Take 6,OOOK white light for ex ample, it is like mid-day sunlight and suits human being's visual felling. Various color temperatures can be made available from 3,OOOKto 12,000 K according to your needs.

•  High  Efficiency: the efficiency of 35W HID lamp is over 85% with a little bit of calorific power while that of halogen lamp is less than 2 0%.

•  Fast Start-up: it takes over 15 minutes from the start-up to stabilization for common metal halide lamp. Long arc xenon lamp or low pressure xenon lamp, while the start-up of HID xenon lamp takes about 10 to 20 seconds and within several seconds to become stable for cooler lamp and heat lamp respectively.

•  Long Life: since the working material metal halide is operating recurrently and oxidation reduction of working electrode is also cyclical, there is no life problem of HID lamp filament, therefore, long life is the main feature, after 2,000 hour of usage, luminous intensity only decreases by 15% and it still has over2,7 00-lumen brightness; if its usage time is about 8000 hours, exceeding the total lamp usage time of normal automobile, it has same life with automobile. Normal life of a halogen lamp is about, or less than 500 hours.

•  Wide Voltage Accommodation Range: for vehicle power supply of+12V, the accommodation range of lamp controller power supply is from+9V to+16V; for vehicle powered with the supply of +24V, the accommodation range of lamp-controller power supply is set from+18V to+32V without any change of output power and brightness.
